the curious incident of the dog in the night-time

I am currently reading the book The Curious Incident of the Dog in the night-time, by Mark Haddon. This book is about a young boy whose mom had recently died, growing up in a small town not too far from London, England. The book starts as a diary, as he tells his 1st hand account of how he found his neighbor Mrs.Shears’s dog Wellington dead, after the dog had been stabbed at night. Christopher is an autistic boy, and after telling his teacher about what he saw, she advises him to write about it in a book, there starting the novel. He decides to turn his book into a mystery novel, and tries to find out who killed Wellington.
After being put in jail, his father tells his to stop trying to figure out who killed Wellington, and to keep out of other people’s business. Although he tries to do so, his attempts fail, and he cannot resist the urge to solve the mystery and end the book. While he is talking to another one of his neighbors—Mrs. Alexander—about if she knows anything about if she knew who killed Wellington, she informs him that his mother and Mr. Shears had an affair before she died.
The plot gets another twist after Christopher finds something in his father’s bedroom. He finds a letter addressed to him, from his mother. The letter mentions how sorry she is and how her and someone named Roger are happy and just moved houses. This confuses him even more because the letter was addressed 18 months after his mother supposedly died. With this new information the mystery continues as Christopher continues writing his novel.
All in all this is a very good mystery book that I like very much. I like how the mystery keeps continuing and expanding throughout the book and it keeps the reader wanting to read more.
